At Kaizen Institute, we are proud participants of the United Nations Global Compact. As part of our participation, we have been recognizing diversity and inclusion related days that are acknowledged internationally. We encourage everyone to engage in international days and events that push for greater health. Staying active, eating healthy, annual checkups, and improving mental health are all ways that can benefit your mind and body. Please find in this article a summary of the health-related days that we acknowledged with our team. We hope that you’re motivated to learn more about everyone’s health and inspired to share these days with your own team.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month – Pink October

Pink October is a month-long campaign that raises awareness for and reduces stigma of breast cancer. For each week, we encouraged our team to take part. We learned more about the disease and ways to support its victims, distributed pink ribbons, wore pink clothes to work, and went on a walk dedicated to breast cancer awareness.

World Mental Health Day – 10 October

World Mental Health Day is a day that raises awareness of mental health. While mental health is gradually becoming a less taboo subject, many still feel uncomfortable discussing it. When in a workplace, it is important to keep track of your own mental health, as well as checking in on others.

Prostate Cancer Awareness Month – Blue November

Blue November is a month-long campaign dedicated to raising awareness for and reducing stigma of prostate cancer. In addition to learning about the disease, distributing ribbons, wearing blue, and going on a blue walk, we encouraged our team to not shave for the month. It was encouraging to see so many people taking part worldwide.

World Diabetes Day – 14 November

World Diabetes Day is a campaign with the goals of raising awareness of diabetes and supporting those who live with it. We encouraged our team to learn more about the disease and teach others about it. Even when working in an office, it’s important to keep up a healthy and active lifestyle.

World AIDS Day – 1 December

World AIDS Day is a day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic. Every year since the late 80’s, many have learned, educated and mourned on this day. We encouraged our team to learn more about AIDS and teach others in hopes of reducing stigma of the disease.
